Vonny
Marshall-Edwards, completely bilingual, is a trained
actress and singer with over 20 years experience.
She started acting classes at 11, sang in a band
at 17 and once she got over her shyness decided
to go to drama school. After her three year diploma
at the renowned Guildford School of Acting, where
she won the Best Actress Award, she spent five
years in London working in and out of theatre,
film and television. Deciding it was time to change
her horizons, she went to the South of France
to sing in a restaurant in Grasse and hone her
French language skills. |
Having
met the future father of her children, Vonny decided
to stay in France teaching jazz singing in the
Ecole de Musique de Grasse. She
sang in restaurants and various ‘Balles
des Samedis’ groups and also collaborated
with a song-writer to write and record several
as yet unpublished songs.
|
| She became involved for
several years with Hilary King’s professional
Red Pear Theatre Company in Antibes and was given
the honour of directing a play – My Mother
Said I Never Should….(Charlotte Keatley).
Vonny is also recognised and qualified by the Nice
Academie to teach English and did so for
8years to French primary school children using theatre
and song. She did this in addition to constructing
adult continued learning classes. |

Now working
as a vocal coach, using her experience as both an actor
and a singer, Vonny has both English and French students
who take singing classes. She regularly runs workshops
on singing technique, interpretation, microphone technique,
voice, speech and presentation techniques. She also
sings with different musicians and is once again collaborating
with several writers and composers. Future projects
include theatre technique classes, learning English
with song. |
